Aamir’s career spans thirty-eight years of global leadership experience built on delivering, sustaining and enhancing strategic business results.

Some of the major roles include Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Descon Oxychem and Descon Chemicals, Executive Director British Oxygen and COO of International Textile. Internationally, he has held senior leadership roles with FMC Corporation in the U.S. and the British Oxygen Group in the U.K. Most of these assignments were general management, including direct P&L responsibilities for major verticals. These included capital goods, industrial gases, textiles, chemicals and petrochemicals. Further, he led the corporate governance teams for Asia-Pacific, which included fifteen countries.

Leadership
Independent Non-Executive Director of Lucky Textile (LTM) and the Chairman of its Board Audit Committee. Lucky Textile is one of the top ten textile companies in the country. LTM has been in business since 1983. The firm is wholly owned by YB Holdings, one of the largest business conglomerates in Pakistan.

Independent Non-Executive Director of HRSG, the largest human capital firm in the country, servicing local, regional and international markets. It manages over 55,000 employees across 750 client organizations and six market sectors. Also offers a people and business advisory service. Serve on the Audit and Human Resource Policy & Planning Committees of the Board.

For six successive years, he has been selected as one of the Top 100 CEOs and business leaders in Pakistan. He is a member of the Board of Governors at the Pakistan Society for Training & Development, including its President between 2013-16. He served as a Co-Chair for the Border Facilitation of the Pakistan-India Joint Business Forum, recognized by both countries for its significant contributions.

He is an advocate for women’s rights, gender diversity and inclusion. He was the Chairperson for the International Advisory Board for Women in 2017-18 and chairs the Advisory Council of Pakistan’s Women’s Entrepreneurs Network. He publishes extensively on economic, industrial and foreign policy matters.

Honors

Aamir is a graduate of Aitchison College, where he was a valedictorian, Rivaz gold medalist, skipper of the cricket team and its head boy. He went to the U.S. for his undergraduate and graduate education from the prestigious Cox School of Business at the Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. He graduated number one in his MBA class, Summa Cum Laude, winning the coveted SEDCO prize. It was the first time for an international student to have topped the university, since 1911.
